STET's Story

With the emergence of the SEPA, the French community came together with the ambition to create an innovative payment platform to cope with large volumes and diverse formats. As such, the system was designed to embrace Europe in its scale, diversity of formats and evolution. Now in operation for several years, STET imposed itself as the leading ACH in Europe.

A new generation Automated Clearing House for SEPA

December 2004: Creation of STET SAS by 6 major French Banks: Banque Fédérative du Crédit Mutuel, BNP Paribas, Caisse d’Epargne, Banque Populaire, Crédit Agricole SA, Société Générale.

February 2006: Launch of the CORE project, a new state-of-the-art SEPA-native platform shareable by several bank communities.

28th January, 2008: Processing of the first French SEPA Credit Transfers on CORE, only 23 months after the start of the CORE project.

October 2008: End of the migration of French national payments to CORE.
