CSR

Our CSR Approach

Our CSR approach is based on a dual commitment: taking action on climate by reducing our environmental impact and recognizing the value of the people in our organization by promoting diversity, inclusion, and employee well-being. These priorities guide our actions and enable us to contribute positively to society while building a sustainable future.

To achieve these goals, STET aligns its efforts with the 10 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) it considers material.

Environment

ECOVADIS

Operational excellence is a key lever for STET to ensure a high standard of service quality, resilience, and data security, while also maintaining a low carbon footprint. This balance is a major challenge for all organizations today.

Given its role in the French and Belgian interbank community, STET can make a meaningful contribution to addressing climate change, both environmentally and socially.

For this reason, in 2021, STET launched a structured CSR program, which has already delivered tangible results:

  • INR Responsible Digital Charter signed: This charter supports STET in shaping its IT action plan and monitoring performance.
  • #StOpE Charter signed: Through this charter STET is committed to tackling everyday sexism and providing a safe working environment for all employees, based on equality, dignity, and respect.

Thanks to all these efforts, STET is proud to display its overall ECOVADIS rating of 72/100, earning a silver medal this year.

Carbon Footprint

STET CSR approach took a major step forward with the completion of its first Bilan Carbone® (carbon footprint assessment), covering Scopes 1, 2 and 3 for the year 2022.

  • Measuring STET’s carbon footprint is an important first step in designing our roadmap to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
  • Offering this level of transparency to our clients is a prerequisite to enable them to assess their own Scope 3 emissions.
  • Sharing its carbon footprint proves STET’s commitment to raising awareness across its ecosystem.

Although the Bilan Carbone® is not yet mandatory(1), STET chose to undertake a certified assessment based on the ADEME Bilan Carbone® methodology.

It allowed STET to test the methodology, assess its various requirements, in particular, data collection from its suppliers, involve its employees more broadly and accelerate its efforts to reduce GHG emissions.

STET has signed the Responsible Digital Charter

Since launching its CSR approach in 2021, STET has taken many steps forward, thanks to the combined efforts of the Human Resources, Procurement, Compliance, and IT departments.

As part of its ongoing commitment to reducing the environmental impact of digital technology, STET renewed its pledge to the Responsible Digital Charter by signing it again in 2024. The Responsible Digital Charter is available for download.

Social

Parenthood Chart

STET signed the Parenthood Chart, reaffirming its commitment by creating an environment that recognizes and supports the responsibilities of parenthood.

By signing this Charter, STET underlined its commitment to promoting a workplace where all employees, regardless of their parental status, feel valued, supported, and able to achieve their professional and personal goals.

#StOpE Initiative

In 2024, STET signed the #StOpE initiative, proving its commitment to tackling everyday sexism and providing a safe working environment for all employees, based on equality, dignity, and respect. STET firmly believes that greater inclusion enhances collective performance.

Responsible Procurement Charter

In line with its CSR approach, the Procurement Department has adopted a Responsible Procurement Charter which sets out STET’s commitments to its suppliers.

STET’s Commitments:

  • Respect principles of fairness, transparency, and ethics in business conduct, avoiding situations such as economic dependency
  • Respect payment terms
  • Respect confidentiality and intellectual property

The Responsible Procurement Charter is available for download for more information.

Governance

ISO-27701 Certification

The ISO-27701 standard, an extension of ISO 27001, is an essential tool to ensure compliance with regulations such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and to strengthen the security of personal information.

It aims to establish a personal data protection management system (Privacy Information Management System or PIMS). This standard provides a confidentiality management framework, which is essential to ensure robust regulatory compliance, particularly with the GDPR.

STET, in its daily mission, is staunchly dedicated to ensuring the security of the data it processes, whether regarding its employees or its clients. Thus, STET implements the ISO 27701 standard to maintain permanent compliance with the principles of the data protection regulations and conducts regular audits accordingly.
